The extruded ribbon anode is commonly used in both buried applications of fresh or salt water environments. Cast and extruded zinc anodes should not be used in environments that consist of extremely alkaline (above 9.2 pH), acidic (below 5 pH), or high temperature (above 1400F) electrolytes.
